From Stephen Williams, ERHS College Counselor:

Two Eagle Rock High School seniors have been honored by the National Hispanic Recognition Program. Micaela (Gina) Manciati was honored as a Scholar, and Anthony Wilson has been given an Honorable Mention. The National Hispanic Recognition Program, established in 1983, is a College Board program that provides national recognition of the exceptional academic achievements of Hispanic high school seniors and identifies them for post-secondary institutions. Ms. Manciati and Mr. Wilson are two of only 4,700 students honored nationally. Congratulations on this honor and good luck on your college search.

Hello Parents, Teachers and Students of ERHS:

This is our first attempt to send the E-Letter from our PTSA email address.  Please be patient while we add new and delete old addresses from our mailing list. If you receive the E-Letter more than once, we may have multiple addresses for you. Please reply to <mailto:ERHS.PTSA@yahoo.com>ERHS.PTSA@yahoo.com and give us any email addresses to be removed from our address book. Also, if this E-Letter arrived in your spam folder, add our address to your contact list so you'll get the E-Letter as soon as possible. Finally, please feel free to forward this to Eagle Rock families not currently receiving the E-Letter; they can simply send us an email to be added to our mailing list.

Monday, September 25 is PICTURE DAY. Your child was given an envelope with packages and prices. Check those backpacks! Every student will be photographed for an ID card and the yearbook.

Tuesday, September 26, at 6:00 p.m.: Elections for the PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEES will be held in the school cafeteria. Every vote counts, so come and elect parents to represent you on the Compensatory Education Advisory Committee (CEAC) and School Site Council (SSC).

Thursday, September 28, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.:  BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT. Your child will bring home his/her schedule for parents to follow. Parents, attend each class and obtain important information from teachers!

Hello Parents, Teachers, Staff & Students,

We're Back! There are some interesting items in the bulletins so you'll find information and a link to go to for the details. Also, I'm setting up to use our new ptsa e-mail account at yahoo, so the e-letter will soon come from that account. I believe if you copy the erhs.ptsa@yahoo.com address into your 'address book' you'll keep receiving the e-letter with no hitch (just incase you have an over-zealous spam catcher).
PTSA Meeting
this Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m.
in the school library.
Letter from the President
Welcome, Eagles!

The PTSA welcomes all of our new and returning students and their families! We are looking forward to another terrific year at Eagle Rock Junior/Senior High School. The first week of school is always hectic for both students and parents. We hope you have adjusted to being back in school.

Every student will receive a packet of forms from their homeroom teacher. The usual forms, like an emergency card, will be included in that packet. This year, you will also receive a PTSA membership envelope. I encourage every parent and student to join the PTSA. The dues are $7 per person for the year, and every member of your family (i.e., parents, grandparents, students aunts and uncles) can join. The PTSA has a goal to double membership this year, so we need your help. When you receive your membership envelope, please fill it out, enclose a check payable to "Eagle Rock High School PTSA" for the number of members, and return it to school with your child.

Our first PTSA meeting will be held on Thursday, September 14. We meet at 6:30 p.m. in the school library. Our first meeting will include a report on the state of the school, including the final accreditation findings from last year. The PTSA meetings are a great way to learn the latest and most accurate information about our school.

We hope to send out this e-letter on a regular basis. It will include upcoming events at the school, as well as community news compiled by Anne Richardson-Daniel. If you know of someone who is not receiving the e-letter, please have them send an email to us at <mailto:erhs.ptsa@yahoo.com>erhs.ptsa@yahoo.com. We will immediately add them to our mailing list.

Please remember to join the PTSA when you receive your membership envelope. And we look forward to seeing all of you at our first meeting on Thursday, September 14.
