Saturday Conservatory of Music
A Project of Community Partners, P.O. Box 40138, Pasadena, CA 91114
(626) 345-0130. This is a very inexpensive school of music ($10.00 registration and $55.00 tuition per quarter). Students learn how to play an instrument -- or several -- learn music theory, and became part of an orchestra that performs at the end of each quarter. Registration for new students will be on Saturday, March 16th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. except for piano students who must go at 7:00 a.m. Students should bring their instrument and music they are familiar with in order to be placed at the appropriate level. The classes take place at the Lake Avenue Church, 393 N. Lake Ave. (at the corner of Maple St. @ Lake Ave.)

Songs on the Ranch
Learn songs about farm animals, meet pigs, horses, chickens and barn kitties. Class taught by Rob & Erin Valpintesta for ages 2 - 11. Class Cost: $15, 1 1/2 hours. Pre-registration required. DRAMA
Saturday Drama Classes at the Glendale Center Theatre
Every Saturday from 9am to 11am, the Glendale Centre Theatre offers children's acting classes. The students are divided into same-age groups of approximately 10-15 kids.
The cost is $100 per month. GCT is located at 324 North Orange in Glendale (818/244-8481).

Fun, informative and interactive classes are offered for kids age 6-10 all summer long from 9am-5pm.  Classes include: Cooking & Booking; Global Art; Dexter's Laboratory; The Heart of Drawing; Roots and Tales; Cows, Cats & Coyotes: Bookmaking; Yogis and Yoginis; Theater Fun; Copy Cats 101; Ceramics; Art in the Environment; Painting; Ourselves and Others.

OCCIDENTAL SUMMER INSTITUTE OF FUN TO TEACH THEATER TECHNIQUES TO CHILDREN

The Occidental College Children's Theater puts on their Summer Institute of Fun, weeklong workshops in July and August that will teach children techniques in physical theater, group improvisation, tumbling and movement. Participants must be between 7 and 12 years old. Enrollment is extremely limited, so sign up as soon as possible.

Children's Theater actors will offer individual attention in a positive and fun learning environment. All children will receive a T-shirt, and each week concludes with an informal folktale performance.

Sessions, which cover different material each week, are scheduled for 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The schedule is as follows:

Fees are as follows:

$150 for one session
$280 for two sessions
$410 for three sessions
